I would like to say “We are still in the United States of America”
Now having said that, Free speech is being trounced on. Free speech has its basis in the Constitution of America. Our founding fathers made sure of that. Our foundation (the Constitution being based on a Judeo-Christian concept) makes an important assumption that the average person is actually smart. Do you believe that you can make decisions for how to lead your life, including how government works?
Socialism is based on the average person being not smart enough to govern themselves but have to be governed by smarter people and told what and when to do something. So, I ask, who are the smart people?
